Mummy’s Veggies Too Contaminated
Beware veggies- studies shows that high concentration of cadmium, lead and other toxic heavy metals are present in common vegetables like cabbages, spinach and tomatoes. Well irrigated wheat too will intoxicate you.
The reason is the chemically contaminated water you sprinkle to irrigate them. This is mostly found in pre urban areas, the supply links of vegetables to city markets. The plants get contaminated through water. The levels of metals found to be four fold higher than even the relatively lax Indian standards. Tubers and spinach were found to accumulate more toxic metals and may pose threat to us as they decorate our daily dishes. So veggies any plan to change the menu?
